Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Scrimfield for using the app. We help you find real matches with real people; we don't run them ourselves, so a good chunk of what follows is really about who's responsible for what.

The short version

Scrimfield helps you find matches at venues we don't run ourselves. We don't organise them, supervise them, insure them, or background-check anyone — you show up at your own risk, and anything that goes wrong with another user is between you and them, not us. Be at least 13, and honest about it. Don't harass or defraud anyone, and don't try to game reviews, attendance, bans, or the country restriction. Break the rules and we can remove your account. What we're liable for is limited (section 12), Nepal law governs all of this, and if there's ever a dispute, you agree to try sorting it out with us directly before anything formal. As always, this is the gist, not the actual agreement — that's below.

01 This agreement #

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and [legal operator name], based at [registered address] in Nepal (“Scrimfield”, “we”, “us”) — that's who operates the Scrimfield mobile app (the “app”). Create an account or just use the app, and you've accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If that's not something you're willing to do, this isn't the app for you.

02 Eligibility #

You need to be at least 13 to create an account, and what you tell us — your date of birth included — has to be true. If you're 13 to 17, a parent or guardian needs to consent during signup, and continuing on means you're confirming that happened. You shouldn't be using the app if we've already suspended or terminated a previous account of yours, or if the law wherever you live says you can't.

03 Your account #

Keep your login to yourself and don't share the account — whatever happens under it is on you. One account per person. If you think someone else has gotten into yours, tell us right away at hello@scrimfield.com. Whatever country you set at signup decides who and what you can find in the app, and it stays locked once set — otherwise the whole idea of country-scoping wouldn't mean much.

04 Real-world matches and assumption of risk #

Scrimfield connects you with people to play real sport, in person, at venues we don't own or control. We don't organise matches, supervise them, referee them, insure them, or bring the equipment. We don't run background checks either, or verify anyone's identity beyond whatever they typed in at signup.

You take part at your own risk. There's real risk in meeting people from an app in person — injury during play, or just risk from how someone behaves — and we can't make that go away. Use your own judgement: meet somewhere public, tell someone where you're headed, and decide for yourself who you're comfortable playing with. To whatever extent the law allows us to say it, Scrimfield isn't responsible for another user's actions, for an injury during a match, or for anything that happens at a venue we don't control.

If something goes wrong because of what another user did, and not because something in the app actually failed, that's a matter between the two of you. You agree to take it up with them directly rather than holding Scrimfield responsible.

05 Attendance verification #

Some matches check you in with a QR code, which reads your device location once, right as you scan, to confirm you were actually there (see the Privacy Policy). Rack up enough no-shows and you might temporarily lose the ability to create or join matches. Don't scan for a match you weren't at, and don't help someone else fake it either.

06 User-listed venues #

Users can submit venues — sport, location, pricing, a booking contact, that sort of thing. Those come from users, not from us, and we don't check or vouch for any of it: not the accuracy, the pricing, whether it's actually available, whether it's safe, or whether the booking contact is even real. Any booking or payment you work out with a venue is strictly between you and them; we're not involved.

Only post a venue if what you're saying is true and you actually have the right to share the contact info in it. We can edit or take down a listing if it's wrong, disputed, spam, or someone reports it. To report one yourself, use the in-app report button or email hello@scrimfield.com.

07 Your content and reviews #

Whatever you post is still yours — profile text, photos, messages, venue listings, reviews, all of it. What you give us is permission to store it, show it, and pass it around as far as the app needs to actually function; your review of a match, say, needs to get shown to the person it's about. That permission ends when you delete the content, except for copies already out with other users, or anything we're legally required to keep.

Reviews have to be your own honest, first-hand take on a match you were actually at with that player. No false or defamatory reviews, none written to harass, and no trading or coordinating reviews with anyone. If you've been reviewed and think it broke these rules, tell us at hello@scrimfield.com — we might take it down.

We can remove anything that breaks these Terms or the law, and we can limit or remove content at our own reasonable discretion to keep the app safe. What other users post is on them, not us — an opinion in a review or a listing belongs to whoever wrote it.

08 Acceptable use #

Don't:

  • harass, threaten, bully, or discriminate against another user;
  • misrepresent your age, identity, or affiliation, or impersonate anyone including Scrimfield;
  • manipulate reviews, attendance, stats, XP, quests, or chat to defraud, mislead, or spam;
  • use the app for anything illegal, or to arrange or promote anything illegal or unsafe;
  • use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the app, or try to access data, accounts, or areas you're not authorised to;
  • probe, scan, or test the security of the service, or interfere with or overload it, without our prior written permission;
  • evade a suspension, ban, or the country restriction — for example by creating a new account, or using a VPN or other means to appear to be somewhere you're not;
  • use the app for commercial purposes we haven't agreed to, including advertising, recruiting, or reselling access;
  • copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the app except where the law expressly allows it.

You can report or block any user from within the app.

09 Suspension and termination #

Break these Terms, or give us good reason to think you have, and we can suspend or permanently remove your account — matches, guild membership, listings, chat access, all of it. We'll explain why when we reasonably can. For the serious stuff, harassment, safety threats, fraud, we might act first and explain afterward, or sometimes not explain at all, if that's what keeps people safe.

You're free to delete your own account whenever you like — the Privacy Policy covers what that actually removes. A few sections naturally outlive the account itself (4, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 among them) and keep applying regardless.

10 Our intellectual property #

The app itself — its software, design, text, graphics, the pixel mascot, the “Scrimfield” name and logo — belongs to us and our licensors, protected by intellectual-property law same as anything else. What you get is a personal, limited licence to use the app the way it's meant to be used, for as long as these Terms are in effect, and we can take that back. That's the whole of what you're entitled to — using our name, logo, or branding for anything else needs our written say-so.

11 Disclaimers #

The app comes as-is and as-available. As far as the law lets us go, we're not promising anything about it — not that it'll run uninterrupted, be error-free, stay secure, or suit any particular purpose. We can't promise a match will actually happen, that other users are who they claim to be, that a venue listing is accurate, or that the distances, routes, or weather shown in the app are right. Some places don't let companies disclaim certain warranties at all, so parts of this might not apply where you are.

12 Limitation of liability #

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill — coming out of your use of the app.
  • What we owe you in total, across every claim about the app, tops out at whichever is greater: what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or [NPR 10,000 / USD 100].

None of this touches liability the law simply won't let us limit — death or personal injury from our own negligence, or fraud, for instance. And since so much of what the app does is help you meet people in person, read this section alongside section 4 (assumption of risk) — they're really talking about the same thing from two angles.

13 Indemnification #

If a claim ever lands on us because of something you did — breaking these Terms or the law, content you posted, a venue you listed, how you behaved at or around a match, or a dispute with another user that wasn't our fault — you agree to cover our reasonable costs, legal fees included.

14 Resolving disputes #

Talk to us first. Got a dispute with us? Email hello@scrimfield.com with what's going on before you start anything formal. Most things get sorted out this way, usually inside 30 days.

If that doesn't work, it goes to Nepal's courts (section 15). Any claim about the app needs to start within a year of when it came up, or sooner if the law requires it. Disputes get handled one at a time — as far as the law allows, neither of us will bring a claim as part of a class or group action.

[Optional: replace court proceedings with binding arbitration seated in Nepal. Discuss with counsel whether this is enforceable and worthwhile for a consumer app in your target markets before adding it.]

15 Governing law #

Nepal's laws govern these Terms and anything that comes out of them or the app, conflict-of-law rules aside, and Nepal's courts have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to section 14. Using the app from outside Nepal is on you to square with your own local laws — and any consumer protections your country makes mandatory still apply regardless of what this section says.

16 Changes to these terms #

We might update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the “Last updated” date above moves, and if the change actually matters, you'll be asked to review and accept the new version inside the app before you can keep going. Keep using the app after a change, and you've accepted it.

17 General #

  • Entire agreement — these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole deal between you and us about the app; nothing else counts.
  • Severability — one clause getting struck down doesn't take the rest with it.
  • No waiver — us not enforcing something right away doesn't mean we've given up the right to later.
  • Assignment — you can't hand your rights under these Terms to someone else; we can hand ours to a successor or buyer of the app.
  • Force majeure — we're not on the hook for delays or failures caused by something genuinely outside our control.
  • Notices — we'll reach you through the app or your account email; you can reach us at hello@scrimfield.com.
  • Third-party stores — downloading and using the app also puts you under Apple's or Google's store terms, and where those conflict with ours on a store-related matter, theirs win.
